When I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2021, I was given a choice. I could let the cancer beat me, or I could redefine what cancer looks like and truly LIVE.
I still have chemo every 3 weeks. I’m in chemo forever - unless there's a cure. But the truth is, I have more energy, more motivation to live and embrace joy, than I did before I had cancer! That said, cancer isn’t a prerequisite to understand that life is worth living.
But as long as we're awake and alive pulling breath into our lungs, let's play the music loud and enjoy the rhythm as much as we possibly can. As long as we're living, let's live.”
We have a choice to live a life of joy, of comfort, of possibility and purpose. That’s what I choose everyday. And I want to help you do the same.
Before my diagnosis, I had all the trappings of success: A beautiful daughter and an amazing husband. A home in one of the most famous cities in the world. I was a collegiate athlete and a record breaking sales professional - I hit the Top 10% of ADP Sales Representatives throughout the country, achieved President’s Club and promotional benchmarks at a record pace and was a Top Performing Advisor at various financial firms.
So you could say I was successful. But when cancer came knocking, I was faced with the opportunity to challenge the societal definition and turn it into something much more personal. Facing a terminal cancer diagnosis meant I had to redefine success on my own terms. And believe it or not, success wasn’t being in remission.
